Do the Right Thing?

At the best of times my opinions are of little to no consequence. A long time ago at a pub not so far away I was asked about my opinions concerning the Niner Carbon Fork. In this case, concerning this matter, my inconsequential opinion was wrong. And the great wait began. Not so long after, at the very same pub, I was informed that my assistance would be required to ...

Travel Whoa’s

RANTS ON LEAVING LAS VEGAS: Clark County Nevada. If you want people to RETURN to Las Vegas please make LEAVING Las Vegas easier. There is no reason whatsoever that your intertwined, casino-bred, asymmetrically layered streets should be devoid of airport signage. The airport that's RIGHT THERE.  I can see it.  I can ALWAYS see it. Invest in more signs. And not the giant fancy kind with boobs all over them ...

Homeward Ground

Some might say that Thursday began late Wednesday. Arguably, Thursday ne'er came at all. Lost in the swirl that was Interbike, CrossVegas and the Rapha Party. Of course Thursday was not the only thing lost that day. That night. The night that wasn't. Justin of Princeton Tec is no longer on my LIST. ANY of my lists. He was removed from the 'friend' list at SSWC 09 because he smells of ...

Interbike: Day Two

Trying to compress Interbike (into one day) was a matter of necessity. And by necessity I mean, it beats spending another day, I've had enough. Enough, now that there is work to be done. 7 hrs 50 mins. That's correct. It took near eight hours to compile this caboodle. Bah. That'll do.

Interbike: Day One

Despite stopping short last night in Zion (with the best of extra curricular intentions) obligation and occupational onus forced the trip to Bootleg Canyon. Interbike Outdoor Demo. To work.  To research. But not without a proper registration* at the Sands BEFORE making the trip west. *Registration is a diabolically complex operation that entails patiently standing in line to show a badge (previously received by mail) and watch as the badge ...

Just Another Monday

Briefly. Too tired to type. Work today. Was exhausting. So.  Starting with today.  And last night. Following the brief jaunt into Moab and subsequent drive to end all drives. This is a bed. It was MY bed in Fruita. I had not slept in/on a bed in four nights. Until then, I had happily slept on the floor of he EconoLodge. Until that sleep.  Until that night. Until then, ...

SSWC 2009: Finale

SKA Brewery played host to the final event for SSWC 2009. Included in the festivus was the deciding contest for the right to host SSWC 2010. New Zealand (blue) versus Italy (orange). Given that Team Italy was stacked with New Zealand backers...the result was a pretty predictable pummeling. It just so happened to take some 5hrs to life for it all to play out. Official-like. The remainder of the evening was ...

SSWC 2009: Big Race

VICTORY. Details are sketchy and results skewed (by inappropriate half lap'ers). But that isn't the point. It wasn't the point. In case you do care and want to make a point, here's one now: STINKER.  CHEAT. Like so many World's gone by, characters were first and foremost.  A FEW HERE. After the dust settled there was only ONE result that mattered; NO DNF. Look.  Rabbits. Well there is another ONE ...

SSWC 2009: Morning Three

The really big day. Following a really big night. It was a dark and stormy night. The kind of night that brought out only the staunchest of pre-competitors. Like everything else to date in Durango...NOTHING is small scale. While the Italian's attempted to sway my-opinion by doing a cover of The Misfits... ...educated opinion and preliminary word from the street suggests that Canada, particularly the Isle of Price Edward, ...

SSWC 2009: Day Two

As scheduled an official organized group ride departed town for an official organized course pre-ride. We did NOT pre-ride the course. Early reports claim that mortals will be completing the allotted 22miles in some 3-4+ hours. Prior to this week there were 1000 riders were pre-registered. At check-in organizers were eagerly accepting 'day-of' registrations. Wear walking shoes. In stead, there was a lazy meander through town followed by a few hours ...

Returning The Favour

The Misfit Psycles Corporation has a long history of genuine self inflicted awesomeness. This, our very own brand of awesomeness, is an awesomeness that we are all too willing to share. As we give, we continually go above and beyond.  Up up and away for those in need and (especially) for those that would rather we didn't. Acted as an intermediary for an international camera smuggling ring. Attempted to instill ...

Too Wit To Woo

A funny thing happened on the way to the post office the other day. To avoid confusion, that day wasn't today. Although we did make a trip to the post office today as well. And today, nothing funny happened. Actually, nothing happened on the way to the post office so much the other day either. It was more something funny that happened when we got to the post office. Specifically, ...
